Clinical Study

Just For Men® contains chemicals that have been known to cause health risks. This includes a chemical, p-Phenylenediamine (PPD), that is a dark chemical used in their hair dye. PPD is known to be an allergen, and can cause an allergic reaction in at least 5-7% users.
A scientific study by the Cleveland Clinic concluded that the sensitization rate to PPD in black men was 21.2% compared to only 4.2% in White men. PPD is now known as one of, if not the most, common allergens in the African American population, even rivaling nickel, which is the leading cause of Allergic Contact Dermatitis (“ACD”) in the world.
It is believed that the amount of PPD used by defendants in the Jet Black color shade was approximately 17 times greater than the amount of PPD used in lighter color shades.
